Imagine approaching the end of an amazing sleep only to be startled by an obnoxious alarm sound to wake you up and ruin the whole thing. And because you jumped out of your sleep you’re now cranky and your heart is racing. How you wake up, in my opinion, is just as important as how you sleep. Actually all steps are important. The process of going to sleep and what you’re doing right before you go to bed dictates how well you will sleep and how you will feel when you rise. Why ruin such a beautiful process by having something loud, obnoxious and annoying wake you up?
I created a playlist of songs, in which any and/or all of the songs can be used as your alarm sound. These songs start off really soft and smooth, which are perfect for a light wake up after a peaceful sleep. While these are amazing songs, to me, some of the lyrics may not seem… fitting for the occasion. My goal while making this playlist was to provide a certain feeling, based on the tone of the song. The songs are in no particular order and the ones with an (E) may have a curse word or two.
Snoh Aalegra – I Want You Around (E)
Sinead Harnett – If You Let Me (ft. Grades)
Ari Lennox & J. Cole – Shae Butter Baby (E)
John Legend – So High
Maxwell – Whenever Wherever Whatever
Carl Thomas – Summer Rain
H.E.R. – Focus
Mariah Carey ft. Miguel – Beautiful
Daniel Caeser – Get You (ft. Kali Uchis)
Madison Ryann Ward – Mirror
Ari Lennox – Chicago Boy (E)
